The last few
weeks, months around The More I Run have been super crazy! So much happening…good things happening ever so quickly…it’s hard for me to wrap my own head around! But I’m ready to share it all so get ready, this will probably be the longest post I’ve ever written. I have so much to tell you!
New Memberships & Ambassadorships
I’m beyond excited to have become affiliates with some amazing online organizations. It was only a few months ago when I was
stalking reading so many other fitness blogs and admiring them only from afar–through cyber space. But now, I virtually stand side by side them and am able to email and talk with them openly on a regular basis.

Just last week I had the privilege of being a Guest Contributor on FitBlogger!
I have a new job….I know! This is huge, right?!
A few months back I called our local gym/health club
begging asking for a job–anywhere, doing anything. I spoke to the Wellness Manager and we talked more about what my interests and goals were and the direction I was trying to take my health & wellness path. I’ve become so in love with fitness and nutrition, I just wanted to be near it, doing it, in some way. She very quickly told me I needed to talk with the Director because she had been looking for someone just like me to fill a certain position. We exchanged numbers and within a few days I was meeting with the Director.
She presented me a business plan based on network marketing and sales. We talked for two hours about an outside company she had partnered with to promote health and wellness products. She shared her passion for this particular nutritional supplement along with her own testimony of how her overall health had improved since she had been taking it herself. After our two hour conversation I finally asked, “so what is the name of the supplement?” To which she replied, “it’s called Isotonix produced by a company named Market America.” When she told me that, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I was left speechless for a moment.
Let me explain. In 1999 when was diagnosed with cancer, I began my journey to health and wellness. Through numerous online studies, I realized I needed to be taking supplements and vitamins to prepare my body for the chemotherapy it was about to endure. Through and friend of a friend, I found a product that I thought would best suit me for two reasons: 1. It was a crystal-like powder instead of a pill—-I couldn’t swallow a pill because of the mouth sores caused from the chemo. 2. This vitamin was formulated as the same fluid-type as my own body fluid and 100% of it was absorbed–all within minutes of swallowing it…as opposed to the digestion process a pill would have to do…all the while wondering if and how much of the actual vitamin that made it into my body. The name of this supplement? Isotonix. I know I’ve talked about nutraMetrix in a full blog post before, but I wanted to give you the story behind it.
So there you go…..I’m now a Distributor for Isotonix/nutraMetrix. I’m already so passionate about this brand of vitamins and will now be highlighting a product each month on my blog to share with you as well. This week is Aloe Juice. If I had one product to recommend it would be the Aloe. I drank this several times a day to promote healing in my digestive tract and thus help reduce the mouth sores I was experiencing from the chemo. I could not have lived without this. All of my family is drinking this now to help with our reflux and indigestion type issues, too.
And with that, I’ve resigned my position as a hospital staff RN and will go part time with this Health and Wellness Club. I will be officially titled the Physician Liaison for the Physical Therapy Department, but will also be representing the Wellness side of the business presenting health awareness programs to local organizations, teaching classes and ultimately offering Personal Trainer services.
While this is such a huge jump for me and took months to make the decision, I feel certain I’ve made the right decision! Please be in prayer for me as I make the transition!
Health Coaching and other Services
This week I launched several new services including a new Health Coaching Program. I am now offering a 12 week and a 4 week program to help you become a healthier you! Each program is $50 discounted for the month of August!
I am also excited to have a full array of services that can be tailored to fit your specific needs. Check out the new Services Page to see what all is offered!
Included in those Services is a new Weight Loss Class I’ll be teaching. I’ll actually be beginning a local class starting on September 10. If you are local and are interested in joining the 12 week class, don’t hesitate to let me know!
Also included in the Services is Health Awareness Presentations. I have several presentations scheduled on the calendar where I’ll be talking about health and wellness! How cool is that!! I’m so excited to share my passion with other people and hopefully inspire them to become healthier, too! If you have a business, club or organization you would like to work a Health Awareness Program into, let me know and I’ll be happy to talk with you more about it!
Personal Training Certification
I feel like I keep saying the word excited over and over again, but that’s exactly how I feel right now! This is something I’m most proud of and cannot believe I’m actually doing it. Last week, I received all the materials to prepare me to become a Personal Trainer. Die. Yes. I’m dying. I signed on with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) to become certified and will also specialize in Women’s Fitness and soon Nutrition as well. Now I’ve just got to study and pray I can pass the test! Once this happens, I can’t wait to work one on one with other women and just pour myself into them to help them be the best they can be!
About Me and Blog Header
I also recently modified my About Me page. Over the last two years since the inception of The More I Run, I feel my bio has also changed. I think it speaks more personally, as well as gives a more accurate description of my journey to health, wellness and fitness.
This change in my bio also led to a change in my blog header. If you remember, just under The More I Run logo the tagline read food . family . fitness. I changed that this week to read faith . family . fitness. Through this growth my faith has also grown and become a priority in my life. It’s the cornerstone of everything I do and all decisions I make and I felt it deserved it’s place on the blog.
So there you have it! I told you it was a lot! Without you and your commitment to this blog, none of this would be happening. I am grateful for you and I appreciate you. Thank you for your support and encouragement to me. And with that, I thinks it’s only fitting to share a few comments I’ve recently received that sum it up perfectly.
